This product has been identified as containing lidocaine, which may be a prescription-only active ingredient.

I am writing to seek assistance and share a recent issue I have encountered with one of my product listings on Amazon. The product has been blocked due to the presence of lidocaine, an ingredient that is regulated and may require a prescription.

While I understand Amazon's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its customers, I firmly believe that the automatic system may have erroneously classified this product as prescription-only due to the inclusion of lidocaine. I am reaching out to the community and the Amazon administrators to shed light on this matter and request assistance in resolving this issue.

The product is specifically formulated as a numbing cream to alleviate pain during tattooing procedures. Its active ingredients include 5% lidocaine, 5% prilocaine, and 1% epinephrine. It is important to note that these ingredients are not used in their pure form, but rather in a carefully balanced composition for external application. The cream is intended for external use only and is not meant for internal consumption.

It is worth mentioning that the product has been actively and successfully sold for several years, there have been no complaints from customers, it has received the Amazon's Choice mark, which indicates its popularity and positive attitude of customers.

Furthermore, I have identified several similar products on Amazon's platform that contain lidocaine and similar ingredients, including ASINs B0BBYR5T59, B019D7MQMK, B07T32V9YC, B0BTTN5Q25, B092LDH6CQ, B07L8LZS29, and B09DN7GR14. These listings demonstrate that such products are deemed safe for use without requiring a prescription. It is possible that the decision to block my listing was an oversight or an error.

Additionally, I would like to highlight that I have reached out to the Seller Support team multiple times regarding this issue, but their responses have been consistently generic, stating that the product cannot be reinstated. Furthermore, I escalated the matter by sending an email to the Amazon Escalation Team at jeff@amazon.com a week ago, but I have yet to receive a response.

Despite my persistent efforts to seek assistance and clarification, I have been met with repetitive and unhelpful replies, which do not address the specific concerns and unique circumstances of the listing. This lack of personalized support has left me feeling frustrated and uncertain about the resolution of this matter.

I kindly request the involvement of the Amazon administrators and their attention to the details I have provided. Your intervention is crucial in ensuring a fair and thorough assessment of the situation, and I sincerely hope that my outreach through this forum will bring about the necessary attention to resolve this issue promptly.

I also invite fellow sellers who have encountered similar issues or have insights into the matter to share their experiences and suggestions.

Greetings @Seller_RQ2Lgc8wtbWAb,

Thank you for your patience. I apologize for any delays. Thank you for reaching out with your concerns with your product restrictions. Amazon restricts and requires documentation on many products, even products sold for an extended period. Previously being able to be sold does not mean that a product can be reinstated. Additionally, the existence of similar products cannot be used as reasoning for reinstatement either. I apologize for the difficulties this creates.

The Seller Support team has limited information and context that they can provide regarding products identified as restricted which is why they weren't able to provide details.

In order to proceed with possible reinstatement you will need to ensure that your reinstatement includes the Drug Facts for your product showing the ingredients and concentration information.

If you would like me to review to determine if there any options for escalation please provide your most recent appeal Case ID and I will review. Thank you.

Greetings @Seller_LOfDVZw880Xnx and @Seller_RQ2Lgc8wtbWAb,

Thank you for your time. At this time your products have completed review and are ineligible for reinstatement. I'm sorry but at this time there are no further paths for escalation as these products lidocaine and do not comply with an OTC monograph. Amazon policy prohibits the sale or listing of products that require a prescription or a medical professional's supervision or direction for their use on Amazon.com.

While I understand you disagree with these findings, the determination by the review team is final. I apologize for any difficulties this creates. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns with your product. At this time based on my review of your cases this product is not eligible for reinstatement and that determination is correct. You will want to reach out to your own experts to ensure your product, product labeling and other content are aligned with both Amazon policies and United States law. I apologize I'm not able to provide specific details on this issue. The internal nature of these reviews are confidential. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi, I have been contacting the team since July 14th. The reason they gave me is that it contains lidocaine so my product is a prescription drug. And my SDS states above that it does contain 4% lidocaine, which is in accordance with Amazon regulations.

But the Amazon team has been giving me the same response "the product contains lidocaine and has been determined to be a prescription drug."

So how do I go about making a sale, no one can offer me any help.

Greetings @Seller_EUY30zY4E2xE3,

In general Amazon will not be able to give you the specific reasons a product is not eligible for reinstatement. As was stated in previous investigations, this product has been identified as a prescription drug. Amazon policy prohibits the sale or listing of products that require a prescription or a medical professional's supervision or direction for their use on Amazon.com.

In order to appeal this ASIN you will need to review your product and product packaging and documentation to ensure that it is properly indicating that your product is meeting appropriate adherence.

At this time there are no available escalation paths for this type of review and you will need to continue to appeal with the given paths. Please note it may not be possible to reinstate your product. I apologize for any difficulties this creates.

My numbing cream listing was suffering the second blocking. We didn't change anything after first review successful.

This time we have submited the same SDS and package pictures.

And we removed the potential sensitive words: numbing ,Lidocaine, piercing, microblading, micro needling, Botox, laser hair removal, and waxing.

But all appeals were refused.

We can only get the repeated generic replies and an empty link from Amazon as below.

We are tired of such blind appeals.

The inventory will be returned next week.

Greetings @Seller_EUY30zY4E2xE3,

This product has been identified as a prescription drug. Amazon policy prohibits the sale or listing of products that require a prescription or a medical professional's supervision or direction for their use on Amazon.com. We are tired of such blind appeals.

The inventory will be returned next week.

Could you please share any experiences and suggestion for the numbing cream listing which has been identified as a prescription drug?

Thank you.
