Amazon Buy Shipping, ODR On Time Shipping Rate and Automated Shipping Settings

So, we recently sold an item for $10 and used Amazon buy shipping to ship the order. The default method of shipment that Amazon recommended for this shipment based on the fastest delivery time, etc. was UPS Ground. If we would've changed it to USPS, it supposedly would've taken a little longer to arrive, however it was cheaper, so we went with the recommended UPS Ground. The price for the UPS Ground label was $6.76.

Long story short, the customer said the item never arrived, when we looked at the tracking, it was marked as return to sender and the reason stated was, UPS cannot deliver to a PO Box address.

Why would Amazon recommend we ship with UPS Ground to a PO Box when it couldn't be delivered there? When buying bulk shipping labels, you can't see the buyer's ship to address and yes, I realize we could export the daily orders and carefully examine every single customer's address and match it to the bulk shipping screen before buying the shipping labels, but that's just not practical in reality.

We ended up having to refund the order, complete fail.

Just frustrated.......

I am sorry we passed an order to you with a ship to address that was a P.O. Box. I am not sure where the break down happened, but I will report this to our Seller Shipping Services partner team.
