Brand Registry issue with product from alibaba
Hello,
My brand registry application was rejected stating:
"we have concluded that the documentation you provided was incomplete or did not satisfy the requirements to confirm brand association or ownership."
Background: Im looking to register my brand to sell shoe charms that I get custom made from Alibaba.com. Ive trademarked my brand (received my filing receipt) and I have recent receipts of purchases from my manufacturing company from Alibaba.
my questions are:
1. only received an email with my trademark serial number and filing receipt. (No official pdf) is a screen shot enough of the email and if not what is?
2. I order my shoe charms from manufacture from Alibaba. we only have a chat box and a downloadable receipt of good purchased. is a screen shot of the good purchased with my brand and the company good enough? if not what is?
any information will be greatly appreciated.

Receipts aren't invoices and Alibaba isn't a legit supplier for Amazon.

US standard registration must be submitted with the signature of a lawyer licensed as a trademark lawyer in the United States (one that is not currently BLACK LISTED.
The trademark registration process may be filled incorrectly or is not compliant;
The trademark is not under the same name of the company behind the Amazon store; Both must match
Your invoice must comply with Amazon's invoice requirements
A brand name printed on packaging would be considered permanently affixed. A sticker would not be considered permanently affixed branding as it can be added after production.
INVOICES
Copies of invoices, receipts or other similar documents that demonstrate where your products are produced or manufactured
You invoice should include
• detailed list of products (at least 10 per item, Product name, model number or UPC that can be verified online)) ,
• terms of sale (net30/net60/cash..)
• a COMPLETED transaction ( order shipped),
• your full business name and address, as entered in seller central,
• suppliers full name and contact details, (e-mail, phone or both) (must be reachable)

You should double check your paperwork from the alibaba supplier with a lawyer. Many times they slip a clause in saying that they have access to your product line to continue production and the sales of those items. Some people have even found that they actual signed away all rights to the product they developed by using alibaba services.

There are 2 parts of Alibaba. One part is where you buy items from a manufacturer that are made and sold to buyers for a great price, for a large quantity, some are branded as private label. They will give a receipt.
The other part is using their manufacturers and having a custom product made, and they do not sell your custom item to anyone else. They would give an invoice.
Just have your items custom made, maybe change things around a bit, but unless they are your own product, they know other people will be selling it as well.
That could be the issue.

For a pdf of the Trademark you can go to the USPTO website and download form there, although the email you supplied in the application appears (to me) to have all the relevant info.
I do not think that a screenshot will suffice and I do want to call out what @Seller_0rXAME9V4LQSx and @Seller_WBnGS7Ix3XiDX provided. Great advice to connect with a lawyer on ensuring you are protecting your brand and how you can obtain an actual invoice.
