Attaching a Brand to an existing product

I have a listing that was created prior to our brand getting approved and it now has product ready to go to Amazon (today - 12/19/23). Based on some comments that I've read, I know I need to create a new listing to get my brand attached to the product. My question is, do I create the new listing now, get a new ASIN, then adjust the ASINs that are going to Amazon? Or do I let the current ASIN (unbranded) go to Amazon and merge the listings after Amazon has taken delivery of my product?

You will want to get this taken care of before sending inventory to Amazon because if the ASIN changes, FBA won't relabel it for you.

Hi @Seller_ME2p7YCAyyBO0,

Steve from Amazon here, thank you for reaching out. Brand name change requests beyond minor corrections are considered re-branding and will not be supported.

To protect Customer trust and ensure catalog quality, we ask that you create a new ASIN for the new product in accordance with Amazon’s Product Detail page Rules.

Please let me know if there are any other questions.

Thanks,

Steve
