How to have amazon collect 10% GST from customers for me?
How to have amazon collect 10% GST from customers for me?
I’m a FBA seller in Australia.
I registered GST 2 weeks ago and I also input my GST number to TAX setting in amazon seller centre.
However, I don’t know how to have amazon collect the GST from buyers.
When the buyers check out, they don’t need to pay 10% GST and also can’t print a tax invoice.
I have attached one picture to explain my question.
Pic 1 is other seller in Australia Pic 2 is my shop in Australia when customer check out.
As pic 1shows, when customer check out, there is a ‘see details’ option, in which you can see the GST paid by customers, but in pic 2 there is no ‘see details’ option and the customers also don’t need to pay GST when they place the order.
What should I do to let customers pay GST like Pic 1?

When the sale is from a marketplace seller (i.e. not sold by Amazon Australia themselves) the price is presumed to include GST if applicable. Amazon don’t issue tax invoices to buyers on behalf of sellers. If a customer requires a tax invoice you will need to send them one.

Is the first screen shot from a seller shipping from outside of Australia? Amazon collects GST on behalf of sellers in this circumstance. If you are shipping from within Australia including FBA then Amazon don’t add GST to the order or issue tax invoices. It’s up to you to include GST in the prices you list and remit the appropriate amounts to the ATO.

Hi, everyone.
I had this question because I didn’t notice the price shown on the listing page from the sellers outside of Australia also includes GST.
In this case, it’s totally fair for Australian sellers and we can claim some GST of amazon service back from ATO, which is good and advantages.
Now, my problem solved.

Hello, as far as I know, Amazon collects the GST as included in the sales price.
For instance, If you sell an item from 99 AUD in Amazon AU, Amazon would pay you 90 AUD as allowance. (90 AUD + 9 AUD GST)
That means GST was collected from the customer while checkout. So you need to calculate the total GST fee and add it to your total price.
