How do I change the name that seller central was registered under when it was first set up?

I used my personal name when I first started the Seller Central account but since my business has grown, I need to change this to the actual business name so that it matches bank holder name which is the company name. I know you can change the bank holder name in the Deposit Method screen but this is not what I am wanting to do since this is correct. I just need to change the name (my personal name) when I first registered with Seller Central. Thanks.

yes, you can change your business name, address and phone number. You can also change your legal entity name. We did it several months ago

I don’t believe you can change your display name though. Be aware that you will have to immediately go through the tax interview again. And Amazon will mail a postcard to the business address with a verification code. Then within a fairly short time you will have to upload your liability insurance policy that matches the new business name.

It is best to call / request a call with seller report before you start the process. We are a fairly large seller, maybe that makes a difference, but we did not have any downtime during the process. Business as usual.

The smartest thing is not to do anything. When you attempt to change things around, the autobots think you account has been hacked, and will place a block on our account. It can cam take months to sort out.

Amazon does not care how you do your business accounting. Your newly formed company will simply own your personal Amazon account as an asset. That way you can keep selling.

Seller support will be of no help because they do not have access to your account information, and everyone will give a different answer.
