Amazon charged me 39.99 on my first day (no active listings)

i signed up for an individual account but for some reason it was professional. I downgraded when i saw it and it says i got a charge for 39.99. Will i get refunded?

Important note: this is my first day of amazon seller... there are no active or inactive listings...nothing sold on my account

@Seller_AXC06kcsKI1qG why refund?

anyone that starts a member ship as a seller automatically pays $40

then you can downgrade to individual after you pay the $40

$40 means you paid the initiation fee to join as a seller

years ago just joining was free but now you are forced to go professional on day 1

initiation fee like joining a gang (getting beat up to join)

If you are worried about a $39.99 charge then selling on Amazon is not for you .

You will keep paying every month for having a professional account regardless of your operations. Downgrading is an option while you get things started. But when you downgrade Amazon will take an additional dollar for every order so once you have more than 40 orders a month then you should think about upgrading your account again.

welcome to amazon selling. 39.99 is the price of admission. ....... Wait till you see the price to exit.

you didn't read any of the guidelines when you signed up then, everyone pays that now to create a seller account. If you downgrade then you will not get charged future months

In my opinion, the Pro level is well worth the money. You have far more control, especially over your delivery time.

If you sell only 40 items per month it is the same as the cost of individual level ($1.00 per transaction).

This next part may sound harsh, and I do not mean to be mean. I DO want to give Good Advice here to Help people.

Please realize that Amazon is not a "Garage Sale" used to dispose of unwanted items, Amazon is a HUGE Business engaged in selling desired products to retail buyers, and inviting other businesses to join them. Amazon's entire business model relies a on High Volume of Sales.

If you do not believe you can sell at least 40 units per month, you should probably reconsider selling online at all, except perhaps EBAY.

Good Luck!

Hello @Seller_eDjadEBu4G2in,

Thank you for reaching out and welcome to Amazon. That fee is for opening a professional sellers account. You can downgrade to an individual plan if you click HERE.

I would highly suggest that you review each plan and see if the benefits with the professional plan outweigh the monthly cost due to your volume of sales.

If you would like a refund, please open a seller support case.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Cheers,

Micah
