FBM Package Lost, How do I get Reimbursed?

Hi All,

Can anyone help me with how to get reimbursed in this situation?

I shipped an item through FBM on 03/11/24. I purchased the UPS label through my seller account like normal but UPS lost the package.

The shipment status shows that the item was dropped off and then 4 days later on 03/15/24 it just says it was delayed in transit.

Delivery Information

Time Location Event Details

Fri, Mar 15, 2024, 2:00 PM PDT Package delayed in transit

Mon, Mar 11, 2024, 10:05 AM PDT Carrier received the package.

Mon, Mar 11, 2024, 2:38 AM PDT Carrier picked up the package.

Amazon issued a refund to the buyer because they never received the package. I have contacted UPS regarding a refund because they are the one that lost this item. However, they told me that because I purchased the label through my seller account that I am not the shipper of record and that I cannot make a claim. They say Amazon is responsible to file the claim with them for reimbursement of the $16.15 shipping charge and any compensation for the value of the product.

I filed a Safe-T claim and it was denied. Amazon said that even though I bought the label through them that it is UPS's problem.

One thing that comes to mind is that when UPS asked for my account number I gave them my regular UPS account number. Do I have another account number that is used for my seller account when I purchase UPS shipping through seller central? If so, how do I find that?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi @Seller_22TPqfiCaUwYn,

Tatiana from Amazon here -- I'm just coming across your thread. Typically when there are issues with items not being received, an A-to-Z claim is filed by the buyer. Amazon issues a refund for the undelivered item via this claim. Sellers are then able to appeal these A-to-Z claims.

Can you tell me if there is an associated A-to-Z claim for the order?

Tatiana
