Alternate ship to address required for UPS shipments to ORF2

Hello, I am creating my shipping plan and when I choose the UPS (non-partnered carrier) method I am getting this alert, what does this mean?

Important: Alternate ship to address required for UPS shipments to ORF2

To avoid possible disruptions, the following ship to address must be used for small-parcel shipments via UPS that are sent to the ORF2 fulfillment center: ORF2 via UPS Richmond,

We use SPD Partnered (UPS Ground) and have noticed that 3-4 fulfillment centers have a "different" address than the actual fulfillment center. One is for Yonkers NY, so I suspect there's something to do with the size of trucks allowed to traverse the roads near the FC. Off the top of my head there's also a NJ and Vegas location that do the same thing.

Anyone nearby these locations who can confirm or deny?

I am having the same issue. Did you go ahead with this shipment? Did you have any issues?

Good afternoon @Seller_HYuJkrzj2wvvI,

I wanted to follow up on this thread with some additional information regarding ORF2.

A new address is required if you use UPS to ship small parcels to the ORF2 fulfillment center in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Due to limitations in their network operations, UPS can’t process large shipment volumes with labels addressed to the physical address of our ORF2 fulfillment center. To mitigate the issue, we’ve partnered with UPS to re-route freight by addressing shipments to a nearby, alternate UPS facility.

If you use a partnered carrier and print labels in Seller Central, we’ll automatically generate shipping labels with the correct, alternate address.

If you arrange your own shipping with UPS, you must print labels with the alternate address. You can continue to use the physical address for ORF2 when shipping with other carriers.

For more information, please refer to this page. If you have any follow-up questions, please reply to me here!
