Do I need brand registery in each marketplace if selling in multiple markets?
Hi
I have trademark in USA and selling on Amazon USA marketplace while having brand registry on amazon USA marketplace only. Now I want to sell on other markets of amazon too. So, do I need trademark in each of these markets separately or is it enough to have trademark in USA and brand registry on amazon USA account only? If I don't need to have a separate trademark in other counties just to enroll for brand registry on Amazon for theses marketplaces, will I have the rights of my brand on amazon's all other marketplaces also just like I have in Amazon USA marketplace?
I will appreciate if there's someone can share their experience doing the same.
Thank you!

Hi @Seller_wseGBXnwQSywo,
Steve from Amazon here, thank you for the question. Brand Registry is a global program so you would not need to "re-register" in other Marketplaces. However, in order to have the Intellectual Property protections offered in the Brand Registry program, you would have to have a registered Trade Mark in the marketplace in question.
Please see the below bullet point that's mentioned in this resource regarding this.
- Only trademarks added to your Brand Registry account and those enforceable in the jurisdiction of the selected store (for example, United States Patent and Trademark Office (USTPO) for amazon.com) can be selected. If you don’t see a specific trademark in the drop-down menu, ensure that you’ve selected content in the relevant store. You can also contact the trademark office to check if the trademark has expired or been declined.
As you register your Trade Mark in other markets. You can add them to your Brand Registry profile by visiting the Brand Registry Support Page. Please feel free to view more Brand Registry FAQs as well.
If there are any other questions just let me know.
Thanks,
Steve
