Buyer win A-to-z claim despite tracking show item delivered!!
Sold an item on 28 Nov 2020, sent by Australia post with tracking Australia Post TMP4008300407000802581092. According to the tracking, it was delivered on 6 Oct 2020.
the Buyer claim they never receive the item.
We open a case with Australia post and on 30 Oct 2020, their investigation conclude that item has been delivered to the correct address.
6 Nov 2020, buyer open A-to-z Guarantee Claim and win the case. Unbelievable able…
so pretty much, buyer can buy anything… claim it never arrive despite the the tracking show it is… and get their money back… how good is that?
now 15 Dec 2020, we have a similar case…

Yep, that’s amazon or ebay for you. Unless you use a service which show where it is sent to and signed. They won’t recognise the tracking details.

Hi Good_Deals_Games,
Unfortunately, when selling on Amazon there is little to no support for sellers.
Amazon uses a magnet selling approach, using very small margins while they heavily advertise and expand pulling in more and more buyers.
Hence, the result is the buyer always wins and Amazon believes this just to be part of the cost of selling on their platform.
You also should understand that Amazon is very different from eBay as eBay pulls all revenue from its sellers where in fact Amazon is a seller themselves and will look at your products as potential products to sell itself.
They also only use sellers for a small part of their business revenue.
You will find it impossible to win an A to Z claim once it has been awarded and it can be awarded instantly from Amazon without you even being contacted.
You will also find that seller support is non existent and this is done to keep you from annoying Amazon staff while they continue to expand the empire.
The best way to solve this from a sellers perspective is to, make sure you allow all returns straight away as you will lose everything if the buyer goes to an A to Z claim.
It certainly is not ideal and hence why many sellers do not sell expensive products on Amazon as it is very dangerous with many buyers knowing this system they can exploit it and claim A to Z refunds just to get their money back while keeping the product.
Even though you have tracking, you can have everything they will normally just come up with an excuse why they cannot reverse an A to Z claim.
In relation to other platforms you will find that if you have valid tracking and delivery address it is normally good enough and you will be protected.
Your best bet is to always remember these details prior to listing a product on Amazon, so when you lose money it doesn’t hurt so much.
Hopefully, I have helped a little and maybe we will see improvements from Amazon AU in the future.
Thank you,
James
