Online & Retail Arbitrage

I am a new seller on the platform. I will be starting with online and retail arbitrage and I have been finding it difficult to connect with people that are actually doing this. I have a hard time taking the youtube influencers and others authentically and would like to know if there is anyone on the platform that is willing to mentor / coach me in the beginning stages to not run into costly mistakes that could cause suspension on the platform. I would love to speak with someone directly or receive valuable resources that doesn't result in having to pay a high price to get information.

I have been on the Amazon platform for over 10 years. I focus on private label selling so I am not properly equipped with the information on online & retail arbitrage selling that you need to succeed.

I can only suggest that you limit your communication with anyone who wants to help you to these forums. There are plenty of people on YouTube and on these forums that say yes to everything...leading you to believe they have all the answers but they are just trying to get you to send money to them.

I imagine that there are plenty of online & retail arbitrage sellers on these forums that can provide you with quick tips and tricks to help you with your FBA journey.

Here is one of my tips to help you with your FBA journey but is, unfortunately, not a tip for online and retail arbitrage.

Seller support is not an expert group of Amazon sellers who know the answer to any Amazon related problem. They are a group of people hired to read the Amazon policy to you. This can be done by anyone...and that's why the support received is famously so poor.

Online and Retail Arbitrage is a lost market on Amazon. Doesn't work like it used to and many people that watch the youtube and facebook gurus lose lots of money because they do not know what they are talking about.

Amazon and brands themselves have dropped the curtain on allowing selling. You need a direct relationship with a legit supplier, letter of authorization from any brand and valid invoices with supply chain.

Most people here will advise against OA/RA; the reason being that if there is any doubt to the authenticity of your items, you will not have a documented supply chain to prove they are legit (and in fact, you have no way of really knowing yourself).

There are a few here who will champion RA as a great way to run a business, bragging about the millions they have made over the years. Oddly, these same people never respond to thread of "Help, I've been suspended for RA".

There was one exception; after much needling, I finally got one of the RA cheerleaders to answer a suspension thread. He stated (proudly) that he keeps a law firm on monthly payments to handle his suspension notices. He seemed to think it a badge of honor that he was currently fighting 17 complaints.

Personally, I don't think that 'keep a law firm on speed-dial" is a good basis for running a business.

ETA: One last thing; read the forums, and go through Amazon Seller University; then forget EVERYTHING you "learned" on YouTube or TikTok (most info was never accurate; most that was is now out of date).
