Amazon Routinely Change Product Types & Categories | Catalog Has Become a Mess

Hi, throughout the years & especially in recent months Amazon has been changing my products' "Product Type" & Product Category (or "Item Type Keyword"). These changes made it virtually impossible to update attributes such as title, variations etc', but worse- hurting my products visibility & sales (by treating my products as entirely different products and placing them in wrong categories).

Just so you understand how bad the situation is: I'm selling two products with many variations of colors & sizes (two niches according to Amazon's 'Product Opportunity Explorer') and they are treated as..listen to this... 11 unique product types & 6 unique product categories. Both are school/office supplies but according to Amazon I'm also selling "hair coloring agent", "music" and "chairs" (which I'm obviously not).

I just opened a case regarding this issue but I wanted to hear if you guys also experienced something similar & best practices to fix safely.. (other than remove all products for 48h and reupload with correct attributes while praying).

Case ID: 14794624031

Any reply would be highly appreciated! :)

Hello @Seller_tG7b4e8UHYLHO- and thanks for joining the forums instead of panicking! Danny here hoping to help.

Thanks for including the case ID in your post. I was able to take a look through and see our team did advise that processing a full update through a feed file is the best method for updating such attributes for your products, as this will override any previous information. While it sounds like you've completed this process in the past, did you get a chance to complete after receiving the guidance from that case? And if so, are you still seeing any issues?

Thanks!

Danny
