Definition: Fabric car seats refer to products made of fabric (nylon) with straps, clips, and fabric padding, intended to restrain a child in a car. These products lack any type of metal or hard plastic frame. They are foldable and lightweight, and often significantly less expensive than other car seats. Fabric car seats are often marketed as portable car seats for travel.
