Order fulfilment settings

You are able to set your own order cut-off times for Standard, Expedited and Premium Shipping options based on your business needs. Order cut-off time for Standard and Expedited Shipping is only applicable when Same Day handling time is enabled.

Note: The default cut-off times for all shipping options where you are required to ship the same day is 2:00 p.m. local time. This also applies to Standard and Expedited Shipping when Same Day handling time is enabled.

Create or modify the latest time of day when you can receive an order and dispatch it on the same day:

  1. In Seller Central, go to Settings and click Shipping Settings.
  2. In General shipping settings, click Edit under Order cut-off times.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Set your time zone.
  5. Set the desired order cut-off time for each shipping option.

Customer-facing cut-off times

Customers will see a cut-off time one hour prior to the one that you set for your shipping option to allow for order processing. For example, if you have set the cut-off time for Next Day shipping as 3:00 p.m., customers will see the cut-off time as 2:00 p.m.

How shipping requirements and delivery promises change depending on when the order was placed

If an order is placed before your cut-off time, you must ship the item on the same day. However, if an order is placed after cut-off time, you can ship the item on the next working day.

Note: Changing your order cut-off won’t change the Premium Shipping performance requirements that you are required to maintain.

Operating days

Monday to Friday are considered compulsory operating days for order fulfilment. Effective from 6 December 2021, you now have the option to turn on Saturday and Sunday as additional operating days. This option can help you offer customers more competitive delivery promises. When turned on, these days will be considered towards the calculation of the Estimated Ship Date, that is, you will be required to dispatch orders on Saturday and/or Sunday. You can choose either Saturday or Sunday as an operating day to make a six-day working week or both days for a seven-day working week. Turning on Saturday and/or Sunday as operating days is entirely optional.

To enable weekends as an operating day for your account:

  1. In Seller Central, go to Settings and click Shipping Settings
  2. Under General shipping settings, identify the Order fulfilment settings section and click Edit
  3. Under General fulfilment settings, look for Weekend operation settings and tick the box for Saturday and/or Sunday operations based on your business needs.
