Plants, Plant Products, and Seeds

Important: If you supply products for sale on Amazon, you must comply with all laws and Amazon policies applicable to those products and product listings.

In Australia, plants, plant products, and seeds are heavily regulated due to strict biosecurity laws. You are responsible for ensuring your products meet all relevant regulations, which may differ in each Australian state or territory. This includes any import and interstate shipping requirements.

Out-of-country sellers are not currently permitted to list or sell any live plants, plant produce, and/or seeds on amazon.com.au.

If you are a local Australia seller, refer to the following examples of permitted and prohibited listings, requirements, and additional information.

For sellers using FBA, go to FBA prohibited products for additional product restrictions.

Examples of permitted listings

  • Plants, plant products, and seeds that are not otherwise restricted in Australia.

Examples of prohibited listings

  • Plants, plant products, or seeds designated as ‘noxious’ or classified similarly by applicable state or local government authorities
  • Plants, plant products, or seeds subject to government quarantine or other biosecurity controls
  • Illegal plants, plant products, or seeds
  • Dangerous or fatal plants, plant products, or seeds
