FBA prohibited products

Note: The maximum allowable size and weight for products that can be sent to Amazon AU fulfilment centres has recently changed. See below for more details.
Note: Many dangerous goods (as defined in the Australian Dangerous Goods Code) are not able to be fulfilled by Amazon in Australia. Limited Dangerous Goods assigned under Hazardous Transportation Regulatory Codes (HTRC) 2.1, 2.2, 3, 4.1, 5.1, 8 and 9 (which includes certain lithium batteries) are able to be fulfilled by Amazon. For some of these categories, you need approval from Amazon to send to the fulfilment centre. For more information see the “Dangerous Goods Allowed for Sale through FBA” header of the Dangerous Goods Identification Guide. This means that you should not upload and deliver to us any product that is categorised as dangerous good, or outside permitted categories. We will dispose of any such dangerous goods delivered to an Amazon fulfilment centre in Australia in accordance with the Fulfilment by Amazon service terms.

It is your responsibility to know whether or not the products you are shipping are regulated as hazardous materials. Hazardous materials that are shipped to Amazon fulfilment centres may be subject to disposal without reimbursement, even if they have not been previously identified by Amazon as hazardous materials.

Important: Failure to comply with FBA product preparation requirements, safety requirements and product restrictions may result in the refusal, disposal or return of inventory, the blocking of future shipments or an additional charge for additional preparation or non-compliance.

Sellers participating in Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) and Multi-Channel Fulfilment must comply with Amazon’s restricted products policy and FBA-specific product restrictions. The following products are prohibited from FBA and MCF:

  • Any product that cannot be lawfully sold and distributed in all Australian jurisdictions
  • Sky lanterns or floating lanterns
  • Vehicle tyres
  • Gift cards, gift certificates and other stored-value instruments
  • Products with unauthorised marketing materials, such as pamphlets, price tags or other non-Amazon stickers

  • Televisions that are larger than 178 cm x 121 cm x 101 cm, or that weigh more than 34 kg
  • Products that require preparation but that have not been prepped according to FBA packaging and prep requirements
  • Loose packaged batteries
  • Damaged or defective units
Note: Used condition products may have damage as long as the product is labelled with the appropriate condition in accordance with the Condition Guidelines.
  • Products with labels that were not properly registered with Amazon before shipment or that do not match the product that was registered
  • Products that do not comply with the seller agreement and Amazon policies
  • Products that have been illegally replicated, reproduced or manufactured
Note: We reserve the right to deny removal requests for and to dispose of any inventory identified as counterfeit, including in accordance with the Unsuitable Inventory Investigations Policy.
