Sellers are required to have return policies for their seller fulfilled orders that match or exceed the Amazon return policies available on Amazon.com.au. Your applicable returns policies are displayed on your Returns tab. While you can offer your own returns policy, this does not limit a customer’s rights under the Australian Consumer Law (including in respect of faulty products) or your obligations to match or exceed the Amazon return policies. The Return Settings page allows you to adjust your settings for all Amazon stores that you sell in. You can identify the store for the settings you would like to edit under the Marketplace column. To change your existing return settings, select the option from the drop-down and click Save settings to save the changes.
You have the option of automatically authorising return requests for seller fulfilled orders. If you enable this feature, return requests that meet Amazon’s return policies will be authorised automatically and an email will be sent to the customer containing a link to the Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA). Return requests that are out of policy (for instance, they do not meet Amazon’s return’s policies) or category-exempt (being those listed on this help page) will be sent to you for manual authorisation. You will still be required to issue refunds as appropriate once you receive the return.
For stores where automated return authorisation is not mandatory (such as Australia), you will have the option to manually authorise incoming return requests if you prefer.
Set your default return request authorisation rules using one of the following options:
In stores where APRL is required, such as in the US, Amazon automatically enrols sellers in the Prepaid Returns Label program. For stores such as Australia where enrolment in the Amazon Prepaid Return Label program is not required or available, you will see the following Amazon Prepaid Return Label options:
In stores where APRL is not yet available, you will see a grey ‘Enroll’ icon.
You will have the option to provide a prepaid returns label for all of your returns or choose Amazon to provide an unpaid mailing label.
For returns of Fulfilled by Merchant SKUs that are exempt from the Prepaid Return Label program (not available yet in amazon.com.au ), you will have the option to upload a merchant-paid label or have Amazon issue an unpaid label on your behalf.
