FBA Long Term Storage Fees

From 15 May, 2019, long-term storage fees will be assessed on the 15th of every month. On these dates, inventory that has been in Australian fulfilment centres for more than 365 days will incur a long-term storage fee of $160 per cubic metre or a per-unit long-term storage fee of $0.10, whichever is greater. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and do not include applicable taxes, such as GST.

Note: Long-term storage fees are separate from monthly storage fees and can be avoided with proper inventory planning.

Long-term storage duration

Only those items that have been in our fulfilment centres for at least 365 days will be charged a long-term storage fee. The items that have been in our fulfilment centres for less than 365 days will not be charged a long-term storage fee.

FBA accounts for inventory on a first-in-first-out basis across our entire fulfilment network. Items sold or removed are deducted from the inventory that has been in our fulfilment network the longest, regardless of which physical unit was actually shipped or removed.

For example, if a fulfilment centre associate picks and ships a unit that arrived in a fulfilment centre only recently, FBA will still deduct that unit from your oldest inventory in stock to help you avoid aged inventory.

Remove inventory subject to long-term storage fees

Requests to remove inventory subject to long-term storage fees must be submitted prior to the next inventory cleanup date to avoid the long-term storage fee. The deadline for submitting a removal order is 11:59 p.m. (UTC+7) on the 14th of the month. Standard removal fees will apply.

Inventory pending removal is not subject to long-term storage fees. Inventory in a sellable condition will be available for sale until the removal is complete. You will not be charged removal order fees for removed inventory until it has been returned to you or disposed of.

Long-term storage fees non-refundable

Items that sell after having incurred a long-term storage fee are not eligible for a refund of that fee, regardless of how soon after the charge date they are sold.
